The Centre for the Cooperation in the Mediterranean (CCM) celebrated its 10th anniversary during the Mediterranean Conference with the presence of IFRC President, Tataderu Konoé, the recently elected President of the Spanish Red Cross, Javier Senent, the former President of the Spanish Red Cross, and current President of the CCM, Juan Manuel Suárez del Toro, and Marta Corachán, CCM Vice-President.

The Red Cross/Red Crescent Mediterranean Youth Camp Atlantis has reached its 11th edition. This year it will be organized in collaboration with the Portuguese Red Cross and take place in Guimarães from the 3rd to the 10th of August.

After participating at Youth meeting which took place on the eve of the 12th Mediterranean Conference in the Republic of San Marino, and which was attended by two representatives of the Croatian Red Cross, we were surprised by the opportunities that we identified thanks to the exchange of knowledge and experience and the introduction of strategic documents that could serve as guidelines for our future work.

All delegates stood up as Raimondo Fattori, President of the Red Cross of the Republic of San Marino, asked for a minute of silence "to remember all our friends who have left us in the past few years; and especially, one minute of silence to commemorate, to feel close to us, all Red Cross volunteers and, above all, Red Crescent volunteers who have lost their lives sacrificing themselves for others, rushing into the battlefield." 1

She is a 28 years old Syrian volunteer who has let aside her profession to work for the Movement. Graduated from the Higher Institute of Music. Salam has volunteered in SARC since 2005, and manages her time leading the Human Resources Department in Damascus, training IHL, coordinating the programme between the International Medical Corps and SARC and, since the Global Youth Conference in 2013, she is also a member of the IFRC Youth Commission.
